Our Founders

Valerie Tanner

Founder

 Valerie Tanner is the founder of the Kaymar Tanner Foundation and the mother of Kaymar Tanner.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Springfield College. Valerie’s career and community involvement reflect a lifelong commitment to youth advocacy, family support, and restorative justice.

Valerie currently serves on the Juvenile Review Board, where she works to help guide young people toward accountability, growth, and second chances rather than permanent consequences. She is also the Commissioner for T-Ball with the Dom Aitro Baseball League, supporting early childhood development through sports, teamwork, and mentorship.

In addition, Valerie is a Licensed Foster Parent, further demonstrating her dedication to providing safe, supportive environments for children in need.

She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., whose principles of public service, social action, and education strongly align with the mission of the Kaymar Tanner Foundation.

Ivery Tanner

Chief Operating Officer

 Ivery Tanner serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Kaymar Tanner Foundation and is Kaymar’s brother.

Ivery holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Law from Lincoln University and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Connecticut. His professional background spans construction management, business operations, and organizational leadership.

Beyond the foundation, Ivery is a Board Member of the Dom Aitro Baseball League, where he supports youth development through athletics, structure, and mentorship. He is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and an active member of the NAACP, reflecting his commitment to service, advocacy, and community empowerment.

As COO, Ivery oversees operations, strategic planning, partnerships, and program execution. His leadership ensures the foundation remains disciplined, sustainable, and mission-driven while honoring the legacy of his brother through tangible impact.
